There is a latin saying that goes, non ministrare sed ministrare and though it seems foreign to us in language, its meaning is actually quite familiar. In fact, in the Bible in Matthew 20:28, Jesus said, “The son of man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many”
What a powerful statement! This is exactly what non ministrare used ministrare means “not to be served, but to serve”. This is our heart for Go Week. We want to serve others. We want to give our lives as a ransom for many. Whether we are sacrificing one week, one day, or a hour of our time…we give it up. We lay it down because this is what The Gospel is all about. It is about sharing the good news of what Jesus has done in our lives. It is about putting our desires to the side so that others can live too!!
Send us Lord! We will GO!
