Tamarindo: Work Day 2

Day two started with a 6am surf lesson and is the perfect way to start a busy day!! After surfing we gathered all the materials and supplies to make sure we were ready for all the new games for the kids.

It was so great to see new kids show up for the retreat as well as returning students. They just have the look of pure joy in they’re faces! Our camp kids are learning a song that we hope and pray they remember. The lyrics say “God has a reason for more life,” “God has a plan for me,” and “He is with me, He is for me, I am not alone.” They LOVE singing this song!

We finished the day with an amazing time of devotion and worship around a bonfire on the beach. God is doing great thing here.

Tamarindo: Work Day 1

We started our day cleaning and organizing at the CEPIA center. We were fortunate enough to help the technical school English class with basic English practice. Our kids had a lot of fun trying to help the students communicate. Most of them are learning English so they can have more job opportunities. Please pray that we can continue the conversations with students so we might be able to share the hope of Jesus with them.

After leaving CEPIA we set up the community center with games and activities for all the children. They had such a fun time. It was a lot of work but the kids had a blast and we taught them such a great song about Gods plan for them!

Tamarindo: Coati

Yesterday we spent a few hours collecting trash on the beach. As we were taking a break under some palm trees, a cunning little coati tried to drop a few coconuts on our heads. Coconuts weigh approximately 7 lbs, so they can really do some damage. Coati’s are strange looking animals, like half raccoon half monkey. They look super cute but can be surprisingly aggressive.

Right now we are eating breakfast and preparing for a busy morning of work at CEPIA cleaning and prepping for the retreat that begins this afternoon.
